Outcome 1:
Learner wellbeing and safety systems.
Outcome statement:
Providers must take a whole-of-provider approach to maintain a strategic and transparent learner wellbeing and safety system that responds to the diverse needs of their learners.
HHT is highly confident that Outcome 1 of the Code is well implemented. The requirements of the Code are well understood across the organisation.
• Learner voice is well attended to through robust feedback practices.
• Partnership protection and participation in Ti Tiriti o Waitangi is implemented organisation wide.
• Practices to monitor against Code outcomes are robust and established.
• Self-review processes are highly effective. This was validated recently during our 2023 EER.
• Systems to protect learner safety and wellbeing, including management of critical incident and emergency situations, are robust.
• Goals and plans are regularly reviewed to ensure Code compliance.
• Information is available to learners and stake holders in accessible formats, including on the HHT website www.hht.co.nz.
Outcome 2.
Learner Voice.
Outcome statement.
Providers understand and respond to diverse learner voices and wellbeing and safety needs in a way that upholds their mana and autonomy.
HHT is highly confident that outcome 2 of the Code is well implemented the requirements of the Code are well understood across the organisation.
• HHT consistently gathers information from learners and stake holders to ensure that diverse cultural requirements are met.
• Flexibility in delivery style means that diverse cultural learning needs can be readily met.
• Systems are in place to handle complaints in an efficient and timely way.
• HHT is familiar with the DRS (Dispute Resolution Rules).
• HHT to date has received no formal complaints.
Outcome 3.
Safe, inclusive, supportive, and accessible physical and digital learning environments
Outcome statement.
Providers must foster learning environments that are safe and designed to support positive learning experiences of diverse learner groups.
HHT is highly confident that outcome 3 of the Code is well implemented the requirements of the Code are well understood across the organisation.
• HHT provides a learning environment which is safe and inclusive. We actively encourage networking and engagement through student forums, and provide training pathways for employment going forwards.
Outcome 4.
Learners are safe and well.
Outcome statement.
Providers must support learners to manage their physical and mental health through information and advice and identify and respond to learners who need additional support.
HHT is highly confident that outcome 4 of the Code is well implemented. The requirements of the Code are well understood across the organisation.
• Learner wellbeing and safety remain at the core of HHT’s principles.
• Systems are in place to identify any additional support that maybe required by learners with disabilities and/or diverse learning needs.
